I took my Aussie friend there when he visited me in Penang 2 years ago. It's a beautiful mansion, with the exhibits changing often so each visit can be different from the next. Main Peranakan exhibits remain however so you definitely don't miss the essence of Peranakan culture :) Don't miss it if you're in Penang, and bring your camera! :) I’ve visited this museum I think 4 times. The Singapore museum was incredibly well run and the guided tour was so interesting - the docents were passionate about sharing their knowledge.
